Best hairnets for food service: buying guide
Most kitchens buy disposable nylon or polyester mesh nets in cases of 100 to 1,000. Here's what matters.
What to look for
- Mesh size: finer mesh (often labeled "honeycomb" or "lightweight") holds fine hair better.
- Size: 18–28 in. diameters are common; bigger nets suit long or thick hair.
- Color: many plants color-code by area or shift, and brown, black and blonde nets blend in at front of house.
- Elastic band: a soft band reduces headaches on long shifts.
